I picked up my 88 Toyota 4Runner just over 2 years ago and it has been a great rig for me. It’s given me a lot of great opportunities to travel and meet a bunch of good people. Some of the modifications included:
- Solid Axle Swap
- Dual Transfer Cases
- Lockers
- Rear Drive Line Disconnect
- Roll Cage
- Bigger Tires
I competed in all 2016 Western Series W.E. Rock events but one and multiple other rock crawling competitions. I also raced the Dirt Riot Mountain Series and took 2nd in Series.
Since then, I’ve started parting out the 4Runner so I could put all my time, money and effort into building my new Jimmy’s buggy.
I picked up my Jimmy’s chassis a few months ago and have been collecting parts ever since.
The parts I currently have are:
- Jimmy’s Chassis
- GM 6.0 V8
- Turbo 400 Transmission
- Ford Super 60 Front Axle
- 14 Bolt Rear Axle
- Jazz Fuel Cell
- International Scout 800 Body for Body Panels
- And some other small miscellaneous items.
My goal for the new buggy is to race it in the Dirt Riot Races and someday I hope to race KOH (King of the Hammers) and some other Ultra4 races. It’s going to be a slow build, but it will be worth it in the end.

Gonna see Roundy at WE Rock Rausch in 2018? Makes me want to find a spotter for my yota and beat it up.
